A Dog, a Cat and a Mouse now published in Estonia
Bárður Oskarsson’s beloved picture book A Dog, a Cat and a Mouse has now been published in Estonia in Estonian translation by Andry Arro. The quiet, humorous classic—originally released in Faroese in 2004—continues to find new readers around the world, and this latest translation marks an exciting expansion into yet another language community.
This is not the first time Oskarsson’s work has reached Estonian readers: The Flat Rabbit (Flata kaninin) was the first Faroese book ever translated into Estonian, paving the way for Faroese literature in the country’s bookstores and libraries. Both books are published by Nordur.
Bárður Oskarsson is the most translated Faroese author and has been published in 20+ countries.
The Faroese title is Ein hundur, ein ketta og ein mús and it is published by Bókadeild Føroya Lærarafelags.
