Two New Books by Marjun Syderbø Kjelnæs

Two New Books by Marjun Syderbø Kjelnæs

"Gentukamarið" is an existential horror comedy play which takes place in a girls' bedroom during 24 hours and has a limited line-up of actors. The focus is on psychological relations, and with black humour Marjun portrays how the past and present, in an irrational combination, influence the self-image and behaviour of the main character. "Gentukamarið" will be premièred at the Faroese National Stage on 10 September.

The poetry collection "Karmageitin" circles around the same themes as the play, however the humour, irony and gravity are even more apparent. As in the play the main voice is female and the lyrical style detaches it from the time and place limits and transfers it into a personal story, a family story and a universal story.

Both books are published by Ungu Føroyar
