Sólrún Michelsen in Hungary
Earlier this month, author Sólrún Michelsen was invited to Budapest, Hungary, to partake in a promotional event in connection with two of her novels recently being published in Hungarian.
The 30th International Book Festival in Budapest took place between 2-5 October 2025 at the Bálna Cultural Centre. This year, Hungarian publisher Polar Könyvek has published Ein táttur er silvur and Ein annar er gull in Hungarian translations from Faroese by Kata Veress. They are the first two books in Michelsen’s Nornan spinnur trilogy, with the third book Fáur fær tráðin heilt slættan set to be released in Hungary this winter.
To promote the books, Polar Könyvek invited Michelsen to Budapest to participate in a book launch and signing at the book festival. Veress took part in the book launch as well, which also partly functioned as an introductory Faroese language discussion that attracted an audience of around 50.
